  1. “Researchers have translated a bunch of texts written in cuneiform, formerly the world’s most mysterious language.” makes it sound like “cuneiform” (writing in clay with a stylus) itself is an undeciphered language, whcih is silly, since literally tons of Mesopotamian tablets have been read and translated. The technology in the article is exciting because it will take some of the guesswork out of parsing the tablets in the first place.

    1. I went back-and-forth about it, but I have too many personal commitments to make it this year. Sad trombone.
